The Same Mission, Different Battlefield

Brian Armer

Fifteen years ago, Jake Turner was a state-ranked wrestler. Four a.m. runs. Two-a-day practices. A coach who said the same thing every morning: nobody outworks us. These days, Jake’s early start takes him to a roof instead of a wrestling room.

The singlet is long gone. The habit of showing up is not. By six, he is working alongside a crew that knows the weather matters as much as the clock. Shingles, sheet metal, and rough edges make their own demands. His hands show the difference between the sport he used to do and the work he does now.

There are familiar things, too. Knowing who is beside him. Paying attention when somebody needs a hand. Doing his part so the others can do theirs. He learned those things on a mat, long before he learned his way around a roof.

At the end of the day, Jake climbs down and puts the tools away. He cleans the scrapes on his hands and gives the damaged skin some care with Regenerate RX, following its directions. The next job can wait while he takes care of the hands that do it.

Then his old coach calls. The high school team needs a volunteer for Saturday practice.

Jake shows up at six in the morning. The room is familiar enough to make fifteen years feel shorter: the mat, the early hour, the work already beginning. He has scarred knuckles and a sunburned neck now, but he still knows why those kids are there.

They want to get better. They need people willing to help them do it. His coach had been one of those people for him. This morning, Jake gets to be one for somebody else.

The kids ask what he does now. He looks at the mat, then at his hands, and smiles.

“Same thing I always did. I just work on a different battlefield.”

Who depends on the work your hands do? Give split knuckles and job-site scrapes serious care with all-natural Regenerate RX, built for coordinated defense and repair of damaged skin.
