She Almost Turned Back Until She Thought of Her Brother
She stopped at the overlook and looked back down the winding road. Her brother would ask about the climb when she called. He always did. They lived far enough apart that their rides no longer ended at the same kitchen table, but a good hill still gave them something to share.
She had nearly turned around at the first bend. The wind made the ascent feel longer, and the last stretch offered no easy place to coast. Then she remembered how he would laugh when she described a climb as “just a little hill.” She kept riding, saving the story for him.
THE SMALL ACT BEFORE THE CALL
At the top, she took a breath and reached for Zombie Lips. Wind had left her lips feeling dry. A familiar swipe of the conditioning balm was a simple bit of care before she reached for her phone, not a victory ceremony or a promise that the weather could never bother her skin.
Brian built this lip care for active days that do not pause for a perfect routine. Coconut oil and shea butter bring conditioning moisture; the waxes help the balm stay with you through movement and changing air. Zombie Lips is also designed for cold sore defense, but here its job was the everyday one: care for the lips that would soon be telling someone she loved about the road.
Her brother answered before the second ring. “How was it?” he asked. She looked toward the next ridge, grinned, and told him she had found one more hill. He stayed on the line while she described every turn. The ride had been hers; sharing it made the distance between them feel smaller.
Bring care along for the stories still ahead. Meet the Zombie routine and keep going, you Monster.
