Your Skin Trains on the Mat Too
The first grip comes fast. Someone drags a sleeve across your wrist, your knee skims the mat, and a stubborn patch of skin catches against the fabric. You notice the position. Your skin notices everything else.
Grappling asks a lot of the parts of your body you do not think about between rounds. Sweat, friction, close contact, and repeated mat time are ordinary parts of BJJ and wrestling. A skin hygiene routine should be just as ordinary as tying your belt or checking your gear.
BEFORE YOU STEP ON
Start with clean training clothes and gear. Take a moment to notice whether your skin is already irritated or broken. Prepare personal-care products before you leave home, not after you are leaning on the locker room sink between rounds.
Infusion Hygienic Concentrate is made to mix into a water-based body wash, liquid soap, lotion, or spray you already use. Mix one quarter of its 2 oz bottle into your chosen water-based product and shake or stir until integrated. A prepared personal-care spray can fit the time around training. Infusion is for your personal routine, not for cleaning mats or equipment.
WHILE THE ROUND IS MOVING
A hard roll is supposed to test your timing, not make you ignore what your skin is telling you. If a seam starts rubbing raw or you notice a new scrape, pay attention instead of treating it as a badge you have to hide. Move to a direct care step when you can. If you notice a concerning skin change, get appropriate medical guidance before returning to close contact.
That is not stepping away from your training. It is part of taking your partners and yourself seriously.
AFTER YOU LEAVE THE MAT
Do not make your skin wait for a perfect shower schedule. Clean up as soon as practical, then wash thoroughly when you can. A prepared Infusion body wash belongs in your shower routine; a prepared water-based spray can bridge the gap when the shower is not available yet. Clean and dry the gear that took the rounds with you rather than leaving it shut in the bag.
If the mat left you with a tender scrape, NutriCore Vital Recovery Spray gives you a no-touch option for direct wound care. If skin is dry and stressed from repeated friction, Regenerate RX Protect and Restore Balm offers a separate balm step. Neither replaces proper cleaning, assessment of a serious injury, or medical care for signs of infection.
The routine does not have to be elaborate. Prepare. Notice. Clean up. Care for the spots that need more. The next time someone calls for one more round, your skin should not be the part of your training you forgot to plan for.
